  The lungeing girdle is a girdle made of leather or linen that rests directly on the horse's back. For this reason, it should be well padded, but not rest on the horse's withers.
  
  Proper lunging promotes muscle building, balance and trust between the horse and the lunger. The lungeing girdle is an important tool because it primarily serves to build muscle efficiently. In order for the lungeing girdle to promote muscle building, it must be well padded so that the "nutcracker effect" is avoided and it does not put pressure on the muscles. A high-quality lungeing girdle is also equipped with enough rings so that side reins, double lunge lines and the like can be attached in the right places.
